The Lake
Skeleton Lake is one of Alberta’s premier recreational lakes. Located just 160 km northeast of Edmonton, Alberta in Athabasca County, this lake attracts thousands of visitors each year who enjoy the outdoors, water-based recreation, golf and more.
About SLSA
The Skeleton lake Stewardship Association (SLSA) is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer board of directors. Our main objective is to restore the level Skeleton Lake to its historic levels, as the lake level has dropped by more than two metres since 1997.

SLSA has conducted significant scientific research and investigations of the Skeleton Lake watershed and the lake’s aquatic environment, and we are pleased to share these various resources with our stakeholders, including reports, external resources and links.
